We are New Age Shutters, a trade-only supplier of bespoke shutters since 2011. Beginning as just a father and son team, Adam and Lance Allsop have dedicated themselves to perfecting our products, from initial shutter design to shutter materials, right through to service and delivery. Today, New Age provides the best interior shutters money could buy for our clients around the country.
Our business began on 9 February 2011 with Lance and Adam Allsop, a father‑and‑son team who carried out every measure and installation themselves. Their focus on craftsmanship and honest, reliable service continues to guide us today.
We opened our first consumer showroom in Shirley, Croydon, trading as The Shutter Studio. It gave customers the opportunity to see our shutters in person and helped establish our reputation within the local community.
As demand increased, we expanded our operations by opening a dedicated trade and workshop facility at Nepicar Park, Wrotham. This additional site gave us more space for production, including bespoke carpentry, while the Shirley showroom, and later additional showrooms at Polhill Garden Centre and Beckenham, continued to serve our retail customers.
Our consumer brand, The Shutter Studio, became an independent company in 2021. This enabled us, as New Age Shutters, to concentrate fully on trade‑only supply and manufacturing. This strategic decision allowed us to strengthen partnerships with professional installers and dealers across the UK.
We moved our trade and production operations into a purpose‑built 600sqm facility in West Malling. This upgrade marked our evolution from a small alterations workshop into a modern UK manufacturing site for high‑quality basswood shutters.
In 2024, we introduced our Allsop Range of UK‑made basswood shutters, designed and manufactured entirely in our new West Malling facility, using sustainable wood and running entirely on renewable energy.
Growing demand for British‑made shutters led us to significantly increase production capacity in Kent. In 2025, we fulfilled more UK‑manufactured orders than ever before, supporting dealers seeking short lead times and a strong quality product to complement their imported range.
In 2026, we're celebrating our 15th anniversary, our team has grown from two people to over thirty, all dedicated to delivering quality products and the straight-forward, reliable service that we’ve become known for. Our product range has expanded to include blinds, insect screens, and blackout solutions alongside our popular range of imported shutters.

One of our greatest achievements here at New Age Shutters is our UK Shutter Factory. This has grown greatly in the last few years from a small alterations warehouse to now, a 600sqm factory in Kent. Here we have gradually built a team of professionals and installed the highest quality, state of the art machinery, to ensure perfect alterations and repairs for our trade partners.
